Vanilla Cupcake Bakery

Lookie! I’ve found something cute!

I’ve learned about Vanilla Cupcake Bakery from my dear friend Cassandra. A few months back, she posted the picture above in Facebook and got me curious at first glance. I wanted to try the place and their food. And I wasn’t disappointed!

White curtains, chandeliers, and dainty furniture in soft colors resulted in one perfect hang out place. With cute and sumptuous looking cupcakes to munch on, I can never get tired of Vanilla Cupcake Bakery. My favorite is their Vanilla Pink, costs less than Php 100.00 per cupcake. Fair price for a store located in the heart of the metro, right? Oh and they have good service too, very nice waitresses!

Vanilla Cupcake Bakery currently have two stores, one in Glorietta and the other one is in Trinoma. I prefer the store in Glorietta because it is way bigger. But both stores maintain the same cute vibe and serve the same cupcakes. They just have bigger space in Glorietta. 🙂

Thank you Cassandra for sharing this place to me!

I first encountered Samgyeopsal in a South Korean Reality TV show – We Got Married. The couple that I was following then, Hwangbo and Kim Hyun Joong were branded as the Sangchu (Lettuce) couple. They’d always feed each other with these lettuce-wrapped-food which of course got me curious and hungry. And so the craving began, end of story. Hahaha just kiddin’.

My first taste of Samgyeopsal  was during my last year in college. It was probably around July or so because I vaguely remember that we attended a screening of Eiga Sai in Edsa Shangri La that time. After the movie, one of my friends suggested that we try this Korean dish in Woorijib along Kalayaan Ave, QC.
It was love at first taste! Grilled pork belly strips dipped first in sesame oil with salt and pepper then lathered with flavorful ssamjang and lastly wrapped in lettuce – Yummy, definitely! According to Wikipedia, ssamjang is a combination of soybean paste, chili paste, and some ingredients. For me, the ssamjang is the determining factor if a certain Korean Resto’s Samgyeopsal is yummy or not.

What makes samgyeopsal more interesting is that you can make it based on your preference. You can add bits and pieces of the side dished to your lettuce wrap depending on your liking!

I really got hooked on Samgyeopsal that I’m always bringing friends and family for a pig out. These are the pictures that I got on my friends’ account that documents my Samgyeopsal frenzy. Enjoy!

Max’s 4Sharing Beef Meals

If you like eating out with friends or if you eat like you have friends within your system, then the Max’s 4Sharing Meal is the best for you!

Last October 2, 2012, I went to Abreeza to attend the Max’s 4Sharing Beef Meals Blogger Event. They introduced to us the Max’s 4Sharing Meals which include a yummy 1 Regular Whole Max’s Fried Chicken, 1 Adobong Baka sa Gata or Beef Caldereta, 4 Plain Rice, and 4 Glasses of Iced Tea all for Php 899.00.

The beef meals goes really well with their Max’s Fried Chicken. The meat for the Adobong Baka sa Gata and Beef Caldereta are both tender. Personally, I prefer the Adobong Baka sa Gata than the Beef Caldereta. I like pouring the rich coconut milk sauce in my rice. hehe.
To make the event more exciting, they let us play a game. The bloggers were divided into two teams. Each team was given a bunch of cut up card boards that forms the two pictures below. Our team did the Adobong Baka sa Gata puzzle but the Beef Caldereta Team still won. Hmp! Clearly the pictures show who should’ve won, right? hehehe.

As a consolation prize, our team got a few boxes of Caramel Bar~ HAHAHA.
Caramel Baaaaaaaaaaars~ Yeay!
Big smiles even after losing the game. hehehe
Oh! Before I forgot, they also introduced their own Max’s Banana Ketchup! They started manufacturing their own ketchup that compliments their Max’s Fried Chicken. You have this Max’s Banana Ketchup for free if you order 1 Whole Regular Chicken for Php 299.00. Nice deal, right?

Greenwich Pizza Party

Yes, you’ve read it right. Pizza party! *squeals while doing cartwheels. lol just kidding*

I got invited to the Greenwich Blogger-only event.. And since the words pizza party are such music to my ears…Here I am! Blogging…for food! 😀

The Greenwich Pizza Party was held at SM City Davao last Sept. 14, 2012. It was a very good opportunity for me to meet the members of the Davao Bloggers. The place was really packed and every one was in a good mood.

They introduced the Better Than Any Other Greenwich Special Overload pizza and the Crispy Glazed Chicken. I was more than happy to try it of course!

*All photos are from Ria Jose

To be honest, I didn’t expect the chicken to taste that good. It was lathered with this sweet viscous sauce. And since it was practically sloshed all over, I thought that the chicken skin would somehow be soft and gooey (I really wasn’t paying attention to its name *cough* CRISPY GLAZED *cough* ).But I was wrong, it was still crunchy and nice to munch on. I’m really not into foods who offer less resistance to my teeth, so I really did enjoy the crunchy coating. Thank you for living up to your name! Aside from the yummy taste, it’s very affordable too. One piece glazed chicken with rice and drink is sold at Php 89.00.  And if you’re a lazy person like me, you don’t have to worry coz they now accept deliveries in Davao City! Yeaaaay~
